The many years of the Garden of India’s success comes from offering the very best in exquisite Indian cuisine, along with professional and friendly service which has made us a Gourmet Award Winner. 

The Garden of India Chef, Raju Ali is constantly looking for new and interesting flavors to bring to the restaurant. Every year Raju returns to Bangladesh to brush up his skills and learn new, exciting recipes to bring back to Darlington. But he doesn't keep the information to himself. Talking to and teaching local school children about the origins of curries and how to make them. Over the last seven years he's taught almost 200 children.

The Garden of India always strives to find the best ingredients and now grow their own herbs, which are often picked on the day of cooking, to give the freshest taste possible.

We are in the Wining and Dining Guide and have a large and varied wine selection. Also the MP for Darlington, Alan Milburn took the trouble to send the restaurant a letter from the House of Commons stating how much he and his friends enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

We also have our own unique larger, Kayani. Brewed specifically for us and available only at the Garden of India.
